The Altinbeshik Cave

The Altinbeshik cave is in Manavgat. It is located the west side of the Manavgat Valley within the national park. The cave is open between the hours of 08.00 – 17.00. It is easy to get there but the road only leads to the Urunlu village, after that, you will have to walk 4.5 km which will take 1 – 1.5 hours to get there.

It is easy to get there but the road only leads to the Urunlu village, after that, you will have to walk 4.5 km which will take 1 – 1.5 hours to get there. As you are hiking through the forest towards the cave, you can enjoy the view of the lush greenery as you are walking. We warn our visitors that for some of the people who are afraid of heights might feel worried about the short hike towards the cave, but we assure you, it will be worth it once you get up there.

The altınbeshik is known for having Europes third and Turkey’s largest underground lake. The underground lake is 125 m long from the entrance, 2200 m wide and 15 m deep. The cave consists of small travertines grikes and a naturally formed bridge. You are allowed to take pictures and videos as you are viewing the amazing views.

The entrance to the park is free but the boat trip into the cave is 14 TL. The life vests have to be worn during the trip and swimming in the water is forbidden.
